Kat, this is a beautiful photo.... How high are the mountains? We haven't been to the Lake Arrowhead area yet. Some day, thanks for posting.
Debbie: Lake Arrowhead is at about 5,200 ele. Big Bear is 26 miles further up and at about 7,200. When make it out my way, come up, so we can meet and do lunch!
Kat, Great photo. Highly elevated mountains are something we miss here on the East Coast. I think the highest mountain in Maryland is about 2000 feet.
Rich
Richard: Wow, I had no idea! I have a good friend in Arlington VA and she's never mentioned that. ALTHOUGH, when she came to visit about 10 yrs ago, she wouldn't drive up the mt. I had to go down and drive the vehicle up, VERY slowly, as she closed her eyes.
Kat,
Another GREAT pic! SUNSHINE, finally! Yeah!
Michelle: YES, FINALLY! I was out every day and every evening in those storms... yikes. SUN was welcomed.
Hi Kat!
That is one beautiful sight! One thing the Northwest is not short of is beauty!
Kat - Yes this is a beautiful shot. I love to see mountain peaks covered with fall colors or clad with snow.
Terrific photo -- what a gorgeous day. Thanks for sharing it with us all.
Paula: Or the Southwest. :) Thanks for stopping by.
Jennifer: I'm with you... always make for a perfect picture.
Bob and Carolin: You're so welcome.
Hi again Kat!
Okay...I was never very good at geography! Thanks for the directions too...I am going to try it tonight!
Hey Kat!
I was just going to edit my last comment and include my signature, but when I click "edit", it comes up as a blank white page, so I gave up. Since they charge for the animation, I chose the static signature...but it was still fun! Oh well...now it says internal error...I will try again tomorrow!
Kat, as always, beautiful. It looks so surreal....are you looking south? or north? ;-)
Very, very beautiful Kat and thanks for sharing your photo!
Kat - what a beautiful photo, thanks for sharing!
Teri: I'm facing Big Bear, northeast.
Robert: You are so welcome!
Sharon: Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Hey Kat!
Now that I know you are facing Big Bear, I have a story! My son was heading up there a couple of weeks ago as part of a work getaway. He had to turn back to purchase chains, then headed up again. The conditions got so bad, that he turned around and gave up on a couple of hours of ski boarding. As it turns out, there was an avalanche and his co workeers were snow bound for a couple of days! He was so glad that he had given up!
Paula: OMG! Thank goodness your son is okay, and his co-workers ARE too! We've had some rough weather this year.
