Our mountain residents are very fortunate to have an agency like the RIM FAMILY SERVICES. This wonderful staff of professionals have helped hundreds of people with problems from substance abuse, to how-to stop smoking.
Rim Family Services, founded in 1991, is a private, non-profit Agency. On staff, they have counselors, therapists, Psychotherapist, Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist, to name a few. Running Springs Chamber of Commerce named Rim Family Services the 2008 "Organization of the Year."
A few of the programs available:
- ANGER MANAGEMENT
- STRENGTHENING FAMILIES
- TEEN PROGRAMS
- TRAUMA RECOVERY
One very special program Rim Family Services has is the Families in Crisis Counseling Fund. This program is funded by donations from local residents. It provides counseling for families/individuals in the community who are experiencing a traumatic event in their life. There is no cost to the client and its designed to provide support immediately following a life changing crisis.
Another way this agency raises money is through their RIM FAMILY SERVICES THRIFT STORE located in Arrowbear/Running Springs. All purchases benefit the Families in Crisis Counseling Fund.
Call or visit RIM FAMILY SERVICES to check out fees/costs.

This looks like a very good organization. It is important for people to have this type of service to deal with life's stresses! I hope they get lots of donations!
Charlotte: Thank you so much!!!
Joan: I agree 100%. They do get loads of donations, thankfully. Thanks for stopping by.
Kat,
What a great service this organization offers to the residents of the mountain communities. With the current economic downfall, many of the locals are out of work, or do not have the extra finances to afford counseling or assistance for these types of needs that you specified above. Thank God, for the wonderful volunteers who give of their time to make the community a better place and who offer these special programs!
Michelle: Indeed, these professionals need to be commended for all their hard work and the hours they put in to help people in need.
