Did you see any news yesterday? If so, you may have seen Ringo Starr (of course you know he's one of
Fab Four--Beatles). Usually I don't pay attention to "stuff" like this, but I was cooking and barely listening to the reporter, when I HEARD Ringo Starr almost shouting "After October 20, 2008, I'M NOT SIGNING ANYMORE FAN MAIL OR OPENING ANYMORE FAN MAIL. I'M TOO BUSY!
With my mouth opened WIDE, I turned and stared at the TV in disbelief! My thoughts were (and still are) YOU ARROGANT &*#. The public made you! Your fans guided your career. And you TREAT your loyal fans like this?
Okay, I was never a Beatles fan (I know I'm the odd man out, but they never did anything for me), though I grew to love Paul McCartney's baby face...and voice.
What if we, after we finally retire from our Real Estate career, treated past clients like this? What IF we got a call from a past client wanting to sell and asking for help finding a Realtor who we'd recommend? And we said to the Past Client, "TOUGH LUCK! I'M TOO BUSY ENJOYING LIFE TO HELP YOU."
So, am I off my rocker with my feelings? Am I over-reacting? What say you?

When I saw the picture - I thought you were writing something on the bark beatle . . . but I did not hear this and it is sad. Of course we should not ever treat past clients this way. I couldn't imagine treating anyone like that!!!
The Golden Rule applies here....
Sharon: Me either!!! I still can't believe it, but I HEARD him. Sad.
Kat~ I loved the Beatles and I still do! Ringo ought to be ashamed of himself acting like that! Who does he think he is? You are right, that really is arrogant! I guess he is just showing us what he is really about! Without his "Fans" he is a nobody! He better watch out!
Kat,
Saw this on the news yesterday and I was just as shocked as you were! I like how he gave his fans a deadline for any autographs and if your mail is postmarked past Oct 22, your out of luck! He won't sign any more autographs or answer any more mail after that! Wouldn't you think he could hire some staff members to take care of the fan mail for him with all of the money he has made? You know Hollywood, this could just be another publicity stunt! Perhaps Ringo's about to release a new album or something! ;0)
Yeah, what's up with Ringo? That was really poor communication on his part.
Kat- I had to take a double look at that beatle pic...at first I thought it was a mutant coffee bean! ;0)
Surely someone like Ringo could afford a publicist or someone to answer his mail for him. Just goes to show you the type of person he is and he lucked ou to be part of the Beatles. He never had much talent anyways.
Vickie: MY sentiments exactly!!!! Who does he thing he is?
Michelle; That's what I thought--he MUST have enough $$$ to hire someone to do his signing. OR NOT! Either way, I bet he has LESS people showing up for any concerts or whatever he does now-a-days.
Yeah...the Beetle is what I am thinking of RINGO right now. LOL
Michael: You'd think he has enough money to hire someone to do his signing. I don't know. All I know, NOW, is that he's a rude and ungarteful person in my eyes.
Kat - Yep, what an arrogant @$%! And what a big siip up to say it for all to hear. Yikes! You know it reminds me that all the really successful people in the world are very busy. They are out there nurturing the relationships they have and building new relationships all the time, on top of running a business and voluteering their time in the community. And you never hear them complain about it. They are blessed, they are grateful and they know how to balance they're life. These are the people we should be admiring and striving to become ourselves. Oh and a little me time is always ok and it's ok to say no to people too, especially during those seriously overwhelming moments.
Jessica. WELL STATED!!! I am still amazed that he HAD THE NERVE to do/say such a thing! Well, what goes around....
I liked the Beatles, but Ringo was never one of my favorites! Too bad he is so arrogant! I hope his fans decide not to buy any more of his music ... since he doesn't need them any more.
Joan.... That's how I'd react IF I had been a fan. Man oh man... the nerve, huh?
I'm still in shock. I guess it goes to show, we have to always be on our best behavior. Think about what happened to Alec Baldwin - with that recording of him yelling at his daughter on the answering machine.
Jessica: So, so true. And.... what about the Knight Rider guy (can't recall his name) and how his daughter taped him drunk? We're in a video/tapes/recorded world.
