Over the past few months, I've been asked about my signature that I use here on ACTIVE RAIN, so I thought I'd write a little post and share it with you. I'm sure there are probably more sites that provide "signatures," but the one I use is easy, and I LIKE EASY. Here goes...
- Go to MYLIVESIGNATURE
- Register, it's FREE & EASY
- Now LOGINusing your new username and password
- Click on START NOW to begin designing your own special signature
- You'll be given the following choices:
![]() |
Using the signature creation wizard Select this method if you want to get an imitation of your signature. You will have to enter the name of the signature, select the handwriting that suits you from the offered list, specify the size, color and slope of the signature and it will be ready! View examples |
![]() |
Draw a signature straight to the screen Select this method if you want to draw your signature by hand/mouse directly to the screen of your computer. This is a fun and easy way to make your own signature. You can use a mouse-pen to go over an existing signature and replicate it too. |
![]() |
Using a scanned image Select this method if you want to get an exact copy of your signature. You will have to write your signature on a sheet of paper, scan it and send it to us. Our designers will process the image in a short period of time and use it to create a signature for you. View examples |
If I chose to DRAW my signature, here is what my "K" would look like.

- Instead, I chose to use the signature creation WIZARD since I'm not so creative with my mouse and drawing freehand.
- Once your signature is done, you'll be given the following two choices of Generating signature codes
You can use your signatures however and wherever you want to.
To add the signature to your email messages, to your posts on forums, to blogs, on websites, you should generated a special code to be inserted.
Our code generation wizards will help you with it:
![]() |
Generate HTML code Select this wizard if you want to generate a HTML code. HTML code is used for adding signatures to e-mail messages, blogs, websites. |
![]() |
Generate BB code Select this wizard if you want to generate a BB code. BB code is used for adding signatures to forums. |
To download a signature to your computer for future use, right-click the signature and select «Save Picture As...»
Once Im done, when I am posting or commenting, I CUT AND PASTE my signature from a prior post , and place it where I want.
and it's that easy...
signed, your friend,

UPDATE: I should have explained better HOW I INSERT MY SIGNATURE INTO NEW POSTS I WRITE. Here's what I do:
- AFTER DESIGNING YOUR SIGNATURE AND GETTING YOUR CODE
- GO TO YOUR AR BLOG PAGE AND UNDER "SETTINGS" ADD IT WHERE YOU WISH--SAVE
- WHEN I AM DONE WRITING A POST, I GO TO A PRIOR POST AND
- COPY MY SIGNATURE THEN PASTEIT INTO MY NEW POST AT THE BOTTOM
- YOU CAN ALSO GO TO MYLIVESIGNATURE AND CLICK ON MYSIGS AND COPY IT FROM THERE

Thanks! I figured this out a couple of days ago too!
Melissa: I LIKE yours! Very nice!
Kat,
Thanks for the info, you know these things take me a while though. You may not see my signature for quite some time! ;) Now that you gave away your secret, do you suppose everyone on AR is going to have a signature now?
Hi Lake Arrowhead Kat -- I will have to try this out. I like all the posts and comments with signatures.
Shirley: It is so easy....and fun...go for it. I'll be looking for yours! Thanks for stopping by.
Michelle: By the end of the day (all of AR will have a signature). LOL And...I'll expect to see yours within the hour!
I appreciate your advice. I'm going to practice on this. It may take me sometime to figure it out.
An hour! Honey you must be dreaming! Give me at least a week...some of us are a little more challenged than others! :)
Pat: You'll be an expert in seconds, believe me. Have fun!
Thanks for the post. I'll have to check it out!
Integrity Mort.: Thanks for commenting. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Very Cool thing Kat, I have seen many of these. I guess maybe I should look at doing one of these.
Thanks for the great tips today I have always wanted to do things like this as well as others.
Jeremy: I KNOW you'll make a really "cool" one. Can't wait to see it!
Rick: You're so welcome! Come back after you've made yours, okay?
Kat, Nice tutorial. See these signatures all over the Rain, but never thought of asking. Thank you.
Hey, Kat. Thanks so much. I was wanting to make one and this is a big help. I will let you know how it turns out. All my best, Jim

Thanks Kat-
Now I'd just have to figure out how to animate the cat at the end!
Thank you, Kat - looks easy even for me!
Signatures on AR are indicators of narcissim. None of us are that important. Nobody cares about our signature. We're not celebrities. We sell homes and are a dime a dozen. Plain and simple.
Another thing that irks me are commenters who try to do SEO in comments. The comments are setup as "no follow" and are not indexed by the search engines. Therefore, SEO and deep linking in comments is a waste of time, effort and only creates clutter.
That is a really easy way to do things. Thanks!
kat,
thanks much for the info. I am heading off to mylivesignature as we speak
Have a great day
Leander
Where would we all be without nice people like you who share their tricks! I'm on my way to a seminar right now, but the minute I get back, you bet I'll be playing with your tip. Thank you, Kat.
Hi Kat, Very cool, I tried scanning and then inserting signature on my comments, but not really happy with the way it looks, this seems much better.
THanks for sharing. Those signatures are so cute! AND free! I like free! KM
This is great information! It's definitely something I'll keep around for reference in the future!

Cat: Now you already know how much I love yours!!! LOL Let's work on the animated cat--I need one of those too!
Virginia: Easy is an understatement... Go get one, my friend!
Dear Anonymous: Your opinion is only as good as "your" signature, which there is none. BUT thanks anyway, for stopping by.
Matt: You're welsome!
Leander: Come back and show us what you came up with!
Susan: Thank you for the kind words. There are MANY, MANY nice people here. Come back when you've designed yours!
Christine: I've never tried scanning... Thanks for letting us know how it worked/or didn't.
Kristen: For SURE....FREE nowadays is a very good thing!
Dan: I hope to see a special "Dan" signature someday.

Hi Kat- Thanks for the head's up on a great site. I will start working on one for myself.
Thanks Kat - I was wondering how to do this!
HELP....... is anyone as challanged at figuring this out as I am????
I can create my signature - tweak it and get the HTML code but when responding where/how do you folks paste your HTML code????
Ok for those of you like me that have issues - I neglected to read about right clicking and saving as an image... a work in progress.
Tom: I am IMPRESSED! Thanks for sharing.
Pippa: I've always liked yours... it stands out and is "cheerful!"
Gunner: You're so welcome!

June: Glad I could help. Now come back to show us when you get yours set up, okay?
Haha, that's the coolest thing I've seen all day! *making mine right now* Thanks for sharing that.
Lee and Pamela: Once you've completed the design you want on MYLIVESIGNATURE.COM, GENERATE THE CODE. That's when you get your HTML . Copy YOUR code. IFyou want YOUR signature on YOUR AR Blog page, go to SETTINGS and insert the code there. SAVE.
Andrew: LOL I love it when people get excited about even the smallest things. That is what life is all about. THANKS FOR COMMENTING... no go get one and come back and show us, okay?
Kat, it is so nice of you to share. I am ver slow but you just wait.
Thanks for sharing. I think I willl give it a whirl.
Pamela: IT LOOKS GREAT!!!! Good job.
Charles: We're all here to learn and share, right? Can't wait to see yours when you're done.
Ron: You're so welcome!
Couple things I learned… once in the mylivesignature site you can create as many signatures as you’d like. They are all stored under the my sigs tab at the top. You can save a signature (if your using firefox) as a .png. But since explorer has an issue and won’t let you save as anything other than a .bmp I just right clicked on the image and chose email picture. When the email opens there it is as an attachment in the right format – save it to your hard drive. Then when writing a response just add a picture – and voila
Now if you choose to add it to your side bar on your blog be sure to change the hyperlink if you want to.
Thanks Kat – I love learning something new…
it's a wonderful website that is super EASY to use! Thanks.
Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the info.
WoW.. these are great.. I need to go set mine up.. I have pricrastinated for some time now.
Tracy: THANK YOU!!! Hey, love the name of your company.... AWESOME.
Pamela: Thanks for those reminders... I should have included them.... BUT luckily you're on the ball. GREAT JOB on your signature! Also.... You can copy and paste your signature from your last post, which makes it even easier to add.
Richard: You're welcome!
Thank You Kat, I like your signature and it is distinctive. I will have to put this on my growing list of things I will explore and add. Your directions make it easier though.
Kat: Thanks for this post. I had looked into this some months ago and dropped the ball. I like the way it looks so I think I will pick up that ball and run with it again.
Shannon: A "To DO" list is a good way to start. Don't forget to share when you do yours.
Michelle: You'll see how easy it is...and fun. Come back and show us.
Kat - this is great. I have wondered about signatures but just never bothered to look into them. Now I have no reason to - you gave us all the asnwers. Cool!
Jeff
Jeff: Make sure you come back and show off yours when you're done.
I was wondering how everyone was getting these cool signatures out there, thanks for sharing a piece of AR mystery
James: Anytime...anytime. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks Kat! I'm so excited! Can't wait to try it out! Emily
Thank you thank you!
This looks like a lot of fun. I can't wait to go to the site and work on a signature. thanks for the heads up.
This was easy to do, and fun - a little harder to upload and have where I wanted it -- may have to experiment with that!
Now that was EASY! Thanks -- this is great!
Well, I did it. How does it look? Thanks again Kat!
It's a signature block party!
Excellent, just what I was looking for. I knew I saw a post about this a while back but couldn't find it. Thanks. ~Rita
Emily: PERFECT!!!
Sharon: I like it...I like it!
Alex: Copy it from your comment above, paste it into one of your recent posts and you'll have it right there for your next time you post or comment. That's how I do it, every time.
Joan: Good job. I love the font!
Tamara: Very classy!!!
I should mention that, on occasion, your signature may not be working---but it's like any bug, it gets repaired when the MYLIVESIGNATURE Gods become aware. Like right now, I think WE overloaded the circuit. LOL
HEY, GOOD JOB EVERYONE!!!
Rita: Make sure you come back and shows us what you've designed. By the way, nice name (my first name is Rita).
Kat, thank you for your post, it finally makes sense to me! We will have to get our signatures done and use it!
Tony and Darcy: Please come back when you do and let us all see! We've turned this into a "signature fest" of sorts.
Kat,
Don't ever stop sharing:-) Who cares about "laughing". So the opposite of our transparent world, no?
Thanks for sharing about how to do this-- appreciate it. All the best.
Thanks for the info... i have wondered how people have done that and now i can make me one!
Rebecca: AMEN to that!!!
Bob and Carolin: Come back after you design yours and show us.
Patt: Very nice... I like it!!
It was so simple, I don't know why I procrastinated so long. Thanks for the jump start!
Jenn: Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, this will make my blogs look a lot better!
Rob: I LIKE that!!!!

You're clever, Lake Arrowhead Kat! Cool stuff!
Terry: THANK YOU....come back and show us what you come up with.
Thank you, Kat!
Leslie: Love your signature.... and your last name. THAT's my maiden name!
Kat - I had another 'Rainer ask me how I got the signature that is at the bottom of my posts (mine is really low-tech & kinda clunky)--so I thought I'd search AR for posts about doing custom signatures. Yours is quite cool! Long story short, I sent her the link to your post as a suggestion. Wish I'd have seen your post before, but will stick w/the one I've got--it isn't fancy, but it is me!
Kent; I happen to think yours is very cool!!!! Thanks for passing my post along. I appreciate it very much. Have a super evening. P.S. I am not fancy, believe me, just my sig' is. LOL
Great advice and tutorial. It worked for me! And now with the signature area in settings, there's no need to cut-and-paste. THANKS!
Thank you Kat and I'll have to try this out. Appreciate the step by step instruction as well.
Have a Great Year
