THIS IS A RE-BLOG
Fall is a great time to experience the mountains...hiking and camping. Or, just a picnic. Come on up for air!
Spring is here and summer is right around the corner. YIPPEE! And I'm sure many people share my enthusiasm. ARE YOU READY to enjoy "THE GREAT OUTDOORS?" Here in the San Bernardino Mountains, we have
something for everyone who enjoys outdoor activities: CAMPING, FISHING, HIKING, OFF ROADING & MUCH MORE. So dust off the tent (or, for lightweights like ME, the RV), pack up the kids and come on up. The following are useful links that will answer questions you may have before heading out.
Start your search at the MOUNTAINTOP RANGER DISTRICT to get info on hiking trails, maps and your ADVENTURE PASS. To enjoy our forest, you MUST have a "Permit." At this link you'll learn HOW purchasing the ADVENTURE PASS helps our National Forest. You can buy the pass on-line or at one of the Ranger Stations. To see where your money is going, check out YOUR FEES AT WORK.
Make sure you click here and learn how the forest can be a wonderful experience for the kids. Then let them
explore JUST FOR KIDS to find out about SMOKEY the BEAR and WOODSY OWL. Lots of fun!!
For general maps, topo maps and brochures, click HERE. This is an awesome NATIONAL TRAILS SYSTEM MAP in PDF form that shows ALL the trails across the good old USA.

Kat, love your post. Great links, great information and it looks nice too. ;-) BTW? Whatever happened to your little lady in curlers? Change your look did you? ;-)
Teri: I left the lit' girl in the curlers on my profile. LOL I may drag her out now again though.

Kat, Weren't you living up in the gold country? I have a recollection of that.
Now that you are in Lake Arrowhead maybe I can ask you what I should do with my lot in Lake Gregory. It's only a block from the lake and a couple of blocks from the north end of town. The question is do I hold it, develop it, or sell it?

Kat - Great post with a lot of wonderful info for people wanting to "get out" into the mountains. I was recently out on 2N25 with my dad and saw a doe with two adorable fawns - great stuff!
Bill: I WAS in the Gold Country.... I am so impressed that you know that! Your lot in Lake Gregory; would you like me to go look at it and give you a market analysis?
Greg: Thanks so much for stopping by! I thought this would be a great example to "reblog." You're so righ about it being a great way to get out into the mts. And to see a doe, awesome! You know I never have. I HAVE seen bears. I saw a darling baby bear up a tree once, hiding from me....I knew Mama Bear was near by so I fled the scene. LOL
