Relocation is a tough challenge, whether you have done it before or not. There's a ton of stuff to think about and plan for, and it can be far more complex when moving across the country than across town.

I learned about this from some clients, who are now friends, who relocated from the East Coast to my area recently, and very kindly shared this service with me. They had a terrific experience with their 2 dogs using Jet-a-Pet, and so I pass it along for your consideration.
Jet-a-Pet provides door-to-door service and they take care of all the hassles (having flown with pets several times, I can tell you it can be a major challenge, especially as airlines get stricter and stricter). Yes, you will pay for the service, but it can be well worth having someone who is knowledgeable taking care of the issues you may not be aware of - quarantine requirements (if any), vet certificates, appropriate travel cages, feeding/watering, compliance and safety issues, to name a few.
