If you're like me, you're always trying to figure out what to give your client as a "closing" gift when the deal is done. We usually don't know them well enough for one thing. I normally feel safe buying something to do with birds/bird feeding.
But this year, I'm adding one more "little" gift; A "LITTLE" FLASH DRIVE containing all the documents from the sale of their new home. In the "old days" I would hand over this bulky pile of papers in a thick folder. Not now. Since I use an e-signature program (DOCUSIGN), and have since its birth, I have most doc's signed online and safely saved (I save them on an extra external harddrive). 99% of my clients LOVE electronic signatures!
...and they're loving the tiny GREEN "Gift" I hand them at closing. They not only think I'm pretty "hip" and up-to-date on the techy world, but they're excited to be helping our planet by "using" and "printing" less paper.
Flash Drives come in many colors and are very inexpensive (around $9.00) and hold 2, 4 or more GB's.
P.S. You can also burn all the signed documents onto a CD.

What a great idea! I appreciate the post as I have burned CDs but this is even better! I will add this to my to do list...for closing gifts. I have also found there is no 'single' gift - dinner card, home improvement card, etc that is a fit for all as each client is unique so does their closing gift have to be.

Hi Kat!
We have been talking about doing this for our agents at the end of the escrow, since we are the ones that keep the original file. Since you are the "Docusign" queen, I have a question. I am only now beginning to see the use of this but I have noticed that the "signature" quite often is over some of the verbiage in the contract, to the point that you can't read some of the contract anymore. Have you seen this, and if so, is there a way to avoid it?
Susan: DocuSign is awesome, isn't it?
Paula: When you're putting the tab over the place for your client to sign, use the "smaller" signature tab, as the largest one will smother the verbiage sometimes. But, even so, I've never had anyone (accept B of A) complain. They are not recognizing electronic signatures, yet, but they better get on the band-wagon.
I'd also suggest practicing on yourself.

Thanks for the mention & for helping out by sharing our signature resizing feature! We discuss a feature every Friday on the DocuSign blog. My current favorite is drafts@docusign.net - if you send an attachment to that email from the email linked to your DocuSign account, it automatically creates a draft envelope and turns the attachment into a document. So convenient!
