This time of the year, you can enjoy viewing beautiful daffodils all around the mountain. However, this post will be about one area of daffodils and one little story surrounding their existence.
Tom and Julie Greer married in 1978 and made the tiny town of Twin Peaks (one of Lake Arrowhead's surrounding areas) home. Since one of Julie's favorite flowers was the sweet, bright daffodil, in 1999, she decided to plant several hundred of those darling flowers (bulbs). She accomplished her first plantings with the help from a neighbor.
One Julie's dreams was to see all of Twin Peaks filled with her beloved daffodils. So the next year she purchased a 1000 daffodils bulbs and she & Tom planted them! In 2000, another 10,000. Julie's dream became Julie's Project.
Sadly, in July 2001, breast cancer took Julie's life.
Tom made it his mission to somehow keep Julie's Project alive and, thankfully, with the help and donations from many wonderful people, he has been able to do just that. As you drive through Twin Peaks along Highway 189, look for the short, staked signs that read In Memory of Cancer Victims. Please Enjoy The View. ... The Julie Greer Project.

Daffodils are only around a few weeks in April, so if you'd like to see this wonderful "project," you'll need to get on up here and soon... Map & Directions.
