Your Lake Arrowhead Realtor would like to share some local Lake Arrowhead Information with you.
Where life is an adventure, not a race is Arrowhead Ranch Camp's motto. It sits on 12 acres in a beautiful forest setting, tucked away on Cottage Grove Dr, only a mile from Lake Arrowhead Village.
Arrowhead Ranch Camp originally housed professionally ice skaters who were training at the Ice Castle International Training Center right here in Lake Arrowhead. The skaters would stay in one of the 12 dorm-style rooms (built in the 50's) or one of the many cozy, little cabins. The camp can sleep a total of 108 folks.
Nowadays, the camp hosts weekend escapes and an outdoor science school for kids, teaching them from the California State Board of Education, Science Framework, taught by trained Naturalists . The classes are for fifth and sixth graders and used in an hands-on-style learning process. The idea behind this type of teaching is for the children to hike, hear, see, feel, touch and smell th
e science concepts beyond a regular classroom. This camp truely has the children interacting with nature and the natural forest surroundings.
The standard 5-day program is like a typical school week, accept is it geared around the great outdoors: botany, geology, astromomy, meterology and many more classes. And the kids do receive school credits! Though the camp is coed, the boys and girls sleep in sepatarte areas, but do join together to form coed groups.
There is also a heated pool and jacuzzi on the property as well as many hiking trails.
In the dining room, kids are served 3 square meals a day from an all-you-can-eat buffet. Yummy! And the camp even offers vegetarian dishes to accomodate those with food allergies or non-meat eaters.
The camp is also available for wedding and family reunions or just weekend getaways. Now how much fun would that be?
Next time you're in this area, stop by and check it out.

Come up for air...
Sounds like great fun. We love getting up the hill to Arrowhead when we can. It's a great get away.

Hey Kat,
What a neat place, I bet the kids love it. Living in So Cal all my life I can remember many youth trips to the mountains, church, student council, that sort of thing. I remember ice skating in Blue Jay, that's not around any longer, right?
Hi Karen: I can only imagine how much fun kids (and adults) have here at this camp.
Hi Lynda: The Ice Castle in Blue Jay has been gone (roof collapsed) for about 10 yrs. You can still ice skate at the international rink up on Burnt Mill Rd.
Camp at Lake Arrowhead! How much fun those kids must have. Science studies will never be the same I'm sure. Thanks for sharing Kat.
THis looks like a really cool place! If I were in your area, I would definitely check it out...especially this time of year!
Hi Pamela: Thanks for stopping by... you're one of my fav' fans. :-)
Kristin; I think it is a cool place, and I bet the kids do too.
