First of all, Lake Arrowhead is a private lake and you must own property within certain boundaries to have 
access to the lake: boating, swimming, fishing... Arrowhead Lake Association (ALA) is here to protect, operate, and improve Lake Arrowhead properties and to provide those folks who own properties within "lake rights" with safe recreational facilities.
Arrowhead Architectural Committee (AWAC) dates back to the 1920's, helps enforce certain covenants and restrictions (like chopping or trimming of trees) within "The Woods" and on properties with lake rights and within "The Woods."
Many lake fronts homes are in gated areas like Hamiltair, Point Hamiltair, Shelter Cove, North Shore & Village Cove (this is one of the newest gated lake front areas).
