This is a mini-vent you might say: I "had" a new client who found me on my blog... That's SUPER! So he calls (ONCE at 11:00 PM!) a few times to give me his criteria and emails a few times to follow up before making an appointment with me to see homes. AWESOME!
On the scheduled date, I showed up 10 minutes early, sip my Java that I've picked up, and I wait. And wait. And wait. 30 minutes is my MAX and so after that allotted time, I'm outta there. On to the rest of my day, I say. (NO, I didn't call this person).
TWO days later I get an "email" saying he had to suddenly leave and go to Europe and would like to set up a time to come to preview property on May 30. You know when someone is lying, and I KNEW he was.
My response to his email? "You NEED to find another Realtor BECAUSE my TIME is as VALUABLE as YOURS. And... YOU'RE VERY RUDE!"
Yeah, that's exactly what I wrote and exactly what I meant. The older I get, the more important my time is to me. And I am not desperate enough for business to work with people who have NO RESPECT for other people and their time... Life really is short and I like filling it with folks who are worthy of my time.
Okay, vent over. HAVE A HAPPY DAY!
P.S. Yes, this is a public post. I want the public to know how much I "value" their time.

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE.
Kat
Time is money, and you never get the time back.
Kat,
This rant is worthy of public publication...RESPECT is desperately needed in our society today...!!! Thanks, Fran
Tom and Lars: EXACTLY, my friend, EXACTLY!
Fran: Amen. Amen. Amen! :)
I think you have saved yourself from the inevitable dissapointment.
Kat: Good for you! I hate it when people are late, don't show, don't call... you name it! And the only thing I hate worse is a liar. Glad you put an end to that relationship.
Time is money for EVERYONE today, but to no show to an appointment and then send you an email 2 days later WAS rude. You know he has a phone to call and cancel the appointment, since he called you at 11:00 PM! Good for you, I wouldn't want to work with someone with that much lack of respect either (could you imagine trying to make an appointment to get escrow docs signed?!)
I am so with you. Its a pet peeve of mine and I don't stutter on relaying this to anyone I have made an appointment with. No show and no advanced call and I'm done with you!
Frank & Jodi: I'm certain I have. THANKS for stopping by.
Chris: Life is too darn short. NEXT, I say.
Connie: No doubt he was/is a piece of work.
Laura: My BIGGEST pet peeve next to Realtors who won't call back. Thanks.
Time is money. Always be on time-set the standard for others to follow. First impressions do mean a lot.
Harry: Time is VALUABLE in so many ways. Thanks for dropping by.
Kat ... Thanks for this article and encouragement for us to consider the important value of our time and resources. Let's not give away our most important asset, our time, to people without qualifying them.
It is important for our friends and business clients to know that we are here for customer service and that will treat each other with honor and respect. If we are not treated with respect, we move forward with another opportunity and use of our time.
Harrison... You said it PERFECTLY! THANKS.
Kat, sad thing is he is so rude he probably won't get it!!
Caren... you're re so right. But hopefully some other Realtor will realzie it sooner than I.
