This is the last year to see the gardens! This year, 2009 the owners will once again share their spectacular gardens with us!! DATES THE GARDENS WILL BE OPEN; MARCH 28 THRU APRIL 12 or 28TH 2009 (weather permitting). I keep seeing different dates, so CALL the Chamber (#below) before heading to the Gardens. AND IT'S FREE!

(Post from last year)... Today, I took a drive up to Running Springs....about seven miles or so up the road from Lake Arrowhead. I went to view The Daffodil Garden. Though the garden has been through several fires in the past 10 yrs, it is as breathtaking as ever. Every year--or most every year, the owners of the gardens allow us (the public) to come and enjoy the beauty they've created and cared for, for decades!!! Gene and Dale Bauer, the keepers of the garden, began planting on their mountainside in he 50's with 48 bulbs.
Year after year, they added more daffodils and tulips to the garden...creating thousands and thousands of delightful flowers to their awesome property. A visitor to the gardens can stroll along at their own pace, taking it all in, snapping photos or sitting down to rest on one of many benches supplied for "us." Don't rush. Stop and smell the...well stop and enjoy the view. So, enjoy my photos.... Keep in mind, I do NOT know my flowers very well. I know daffodils and tulips, but other than those, you're on your own. All I know is, The Daffodil Garden is wonderful!
During your walk, you'll come upon iron girl figures holding up signs, like below. The only request the owners ask is that you don't come until 10:00 AM and you STAY on the path.
Toward the end of my peaceful stroll, I came upon a sign that said 2009 would be the last year we will have the garden open. As sad as we'll be, we also need to be grateful to have had the opportunity and pleasure, year after year, of experiencing this "heaven on earth."
