 Your Lake Arrowhead Realtor would like to share some local Lake Arrowhead Information with you.

No one really likes to discuss this disease; Alcoholism. So, I will. I think it is extremely important to acknowledge problems or concerns in order to either "help yourself" or perhaps "someone" you love or care about who may be suffering from an addiction. I've written and been published about this topic many times. It's a subject close to my heart.

I know the face of "alcoholism." No, I am not an alcoholic, THANK God. I do, however, have several members on both sides of my family tree who are, or were.  It isn't a disease that discriminates. It doesn't care what sex you are, the color of your skin, where you live or how much money you make. It can affect any one of us.

According to the MAYO CLINIC, Alcoholism is a chronic disease that makes your body dependent on alcohol. You may be obsessed with alcohol and unable to control how much you drink, even though your drinking is causing serious problems with your relationships, health, work and finances.

Are you suffering from alcoholism or drug addiction? Do you know someone who may be? If so, suggest they attend an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. It could be the first step on the road to a new and better life.

A little history about the company I am proud to be affiliated with,  WINDERMERE REAL ESTATE

Our office, WINDERMERE FINE PROPERTIES LAKE ARROWHEAD, opened its doors for business in May 2006. They started out with less than a handful of Realtors, plus the office staff.  FUN:   The FIRST ice-skating rink in the San Bernardino Mts was built in 1935, in Blue Jay! WINDERMERE FINE PROPERTIES is in the newer building, among other businesses, which was built after the ice rink's roof caved in due to snow (a number of yrs ago) . Today, the public can still have FUN by going to the ICE CASTLE INTERNATIONAL TRAINING CENTER, which is located a short distance from my office.  Check their schedule for public skating.  Stop by our office for a map and directions!

THE 29TH ANNUAL-BLUE JAY CHRISTMAS-PARADE was so much fun! The weather was beautiful (just a tad nippy) and it was a pleasure being outdoors enjoying the community flavor here in our mountain town of Blue Jay (Lake Arrowhead). MANY, MANY fine folks came out for the parade, as you will see by the packed "STREET," from one end to the other. After I walked through the PARADE, I parked myself at the end in order to snap these photos. I was in the shade, hence some of these may be little dark. ENJOY!

This year, THE BLUE JAY CHRISTMAS PARADE is on December 6th, 2008....and it's one of the most exciting events this time of the year in our local mountains. I've always gone (when I could), but I've never been IN IT. Until this year. Whoopie!  WINDERMERE Fine Properties/Lake Arrowhead will be participating, so watch for me and give me your best wave as I stroll by.
