When you live in Lake Arrowhead and own property in "The Woods," you may want to think about joining one of our beach clubs (for a small yearly membership fee): Burnt Mill Beach Club and Tavern Bay Beach Club. These clubs, plus Marina Peninsula Park, Grass Valley Lake & the lake, are owned and operated by ARROWHEAD LAKE ASSOCIATION (ALA).

Burnt Mill Beach Club:  Here you'll find a sandy beach, a roped off swim area, swing set & play equipment for the kiddies (well, the whole family). Lots of picnic tables, shade trees & restrooms nearby.  Burnt Mill Beach Club is located on the south side of the lake and is not quite as windy as the north side.                 MAP & DIRECTIONS

Tavern Bay Beach Club: Located on the north side of the lake, next to UCLA Conference Center, is my favorite of the two beach clubs.  Picnic tables, grassy area and a sandy beach with a huge roped-off swim area. I don't know about the rest of the country, but here in SO CAL, we're having a little bit of a heat-wave (and humidity). So today would be a perfect time to go see what  SKYLINE PONDS has on display at AQUA FRIA HARDWARE STORE. This hardware store is worth visiting even if Skyline Ponds weren't going to be there, as not only do they have an enormous array of beautiful plants, trees and flowers indigence to our mts, they have tons of tons of cutsie things you can buy!

Skyline Ponds has some of the most beautiful, ornamental water features on the mountain!

This event is a self-guided pond tour. Admission is $10.00 (not to the hardware store, of course). TODAY, July 26, 2009 from 9 - 4PM.

Launching Your Boat in Lake Arrowhead

If you live within "The Woods" and have lake rights, you may also own a boat and use the lake for recreational purposes. Lake Arrowhead is owned and operated by ARROWHEAD LAKE ASSOCIATION (ALA). Below is a list of MUST HAVES in order to put your boat in Lake Arrowhead, including costs, rules and regulations:

To Launch  a Boat

• Registration fee: $200 per boat with dock. $300 w/o a dock.
• Minimum length of a motored-boat: 12 feet. Maximum: 26 feet.
• Own property within Arrowhead Woods (Grant Deed). See AWAC Guidelines
• Must have an ARROWHEAD LAKE ASSOCIATION (ALA) Membership: General Membership, Beach Club Membership, or Dock Membership
• Own a DMV Registred boat.
• Carry $500,000 combined single limit liability and Arrowhead Lake Association must be named as "Additional Insured"
• Have a proper mooring (Slip Rental Agreement Signed by Slip owner), or day launch
• Have a boat operator's license

Launching Your Boat in Lake Arrowhead

If your desire is to own a lake front home in Lake Arrowhead, CA, then you've come to the right place. Let me tell you a little about our lake front market.

First of all, Lake Arrowhead is a private lake and you must own property within certain boundaries to have access to the lake: boating, swimming, fishing...  Arrowhead Lake Association (ALA) is here to protect, operate, and improve Lake Arrowhead properties and to provide those folks who own properties within "lake rights" with safe recreational facilities. 

Arrowhead Architectural Committee (AWAC) dates back to the 1920's, helps enforce certain covenants and restrictions (like chopping or trimming of trees) within "The Woods" and on properties with lake rights and within "The Woods."

Many lake fronts homes are in gated areas like Hamiltair, Point Hamiltair, Shelter Cove, North Shore & Village Cove (this is one of the newest gated lake front areas).

Fun Things to Do in Lake Arrowhead and other Mountain Towns

Ah, where do I begin? There are so many wonderful things to do in the mountains; fishing, hiking, camping, shopping, dining out...oh, and, RELAXING!  So, here are some links that will help you plan your time in our local mountains.

•  If you're a camper or RV-er, we have plenty of campgrounds to accommodate you: Check out  SAN BERNARDINO FOREST DEPARTMENT. 
• If shopping is your thing, then of course you want to head to LAKE ARROWHEAD VILLAGE. However, there are also plenty of places to grab a bite to eat as well. And if you have time, take a trip on the ARROWHEAD QUEEN where you can learn about our lake, its history and see where some of the "stars" of yesteryear lived. 
• A few miles down the road from Lake Arrowhead is LAKE GREGORY...a fun place to spend the day. There are water slides, paddle boats, beachy areas and more.
• 26  miles up the road from Lake Arrowhead is Big Bear. There you can visit their DISCOVERY CENTER. Kids will be having so much fun, they won't realize they're learning. :)
• Another outing can be to one of our many FIRE-LOOKOUTS
• ...or easy hiking trails like THE NATIONAL CHILDREN'S FOREST & HEAP'S PEAK ARBORETUM

Summer Fun in Lake Arrowhead and other Mountain Towns

LE GRAND PICNIC ~ MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY HOSPITAL, LAKE ARROWHEAD

You won't want to miss this awesome event; besides the fact that is it a fund-raiser for the  MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY HOSPITAL, right here in Lake Arrowhead (Our hospital was built in 1951 and is a MUST here in the mountains), but you'll have a blast!  So please come out and support it, and HAVE FUN!

This year's theme is "Parisian Style" and you won't be disappointed.

When you reach the picnic area, you'll feel as though you're far away at some park in Paris: Mimes uniclycles, jugglers, strolling musicians...and more more more.

Lake Arrowhead HOMES for SALE

Since I live in a resort area, and have four very district seasons, this may not apply to all Realtors...but if it does, PLEASE read on to a couple of (what I believe are good) tips, if I do say so myself.

1. Make sure you turn on lights to get the best "inside" shots.
2. Take SEVERAL pictures of one room/outside, in case the first few don't come out the way you had hoped.
3. Try and get an outside shot withOUT YOUR car in it.
4. Don't just post one picture, give us ALL you have. Consumers love pictures.
5. If the outside looks better than the inside, or vice versa, and you DON'T show us one or the other, WE KNOW you're hiding "UGLY."  Let us see...better now than later. (I often go takes pictures for my clients because the Realtor has left out the "UGLY." I know..I know.. you're trying to take the BEST shots only. Don't. Show us everything. If your listing has orange shag carpeting, we're going to find out!
6. My biggest PET PEEVE; AFTER the SNOW has melted and spring/summer has sprung, PLEASE, go take new shots. (I just came across a lake front listing with SNOW on the roof. Now how appealing is that? (those below are only examples).
