The basic MEATLOAF recipe & the basic recipe to your success in this business is almost always the same; You get out of it, what you put into it. It can be tasty or leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Do you measure? Another words, do you use consistency and routine in your business by sending out your monthly newsletters, postcards or phone calls to your data base and, or, sphere? This is key in the Real Estate world. Clients, if they don't hear from you in while will often wonder if you're still in the business. I have heard this over and over.
Are you a dumper when it comes to adding ingredients into your business? A little of this and a little of that? For instance, do you send out mailings one or more months in a row, then stack off? It is common knowledge in this business that it may take 6-12 months of steading mailings to a new "farming" area to really get noticed. WHY? People need that constant reminder until it sinks in-HEY, this Realtor knows his/her business. In addition, MOST folks enjoy getting snail mail. Now there are exceptions--Some people think of our mailers as JUNK (how dare they!) If you're not a mailer, pick up the PHONE. The not-so-computer lovers appreciate a call once in a while. Makes them feel special.
You can change the ingredients in your recipe anytime---add or delete from it as you see fit --for improvement (always to IMPROVE)-but consistency is key.
